"Tawur Agung Kesanga" (Great Sacrificial Ceremony) when rituals are held in welcoming "Nyepi" holiday starting from every familycompound, village, up to the provincial area focussed at Puputan-Square, downtown of Denpasar at 12.00 noon. The ritual will be followed by procession of" Ogoh-ogoh" (huge monster dolls) symbolizing evil spirits along the village and city roads in the evening.

Special event "PERANG API" (fire war) to welcome "NYEPI" holiday 1923 I,caka NewYear, held at Jasi Village, Karangasem in the evening.

25. "Nyepi" Holiday ( 1923) I,caka New Year, the day of absolut silence throughout the island when no activity is done, no traffic is seen anywhere no fire is lit and no amusement is held along the day. It's the day of self-introspection forHindu followers when the entire island turns to be just like being deserted.
