Tuesday evening I joined Barrie, Candika and Barrie’s mum Marge, for a snack at Jogeg Bulan, the popular place on Poppies II in Kuta. I find the food there to be average, but the location is good.
                 Â
Candika had a tuna salad, Barrie had some fish thing, Marge chose a ‘jaffle’ and I had a nasi campur (mixed rice) for 20,000rp. I tell you, if you are looking at a menu in one of these tourist places and can’r decided what to go for, nasi campur is not abad pick. They know how to make it, its cheap and often packs a lot in. Mine was awesome, with satay chicken, and 2 other kinds of meat, plus rice, tempe, vegetable…ya laughing mate!

Yesterday I wrote an article about the Gili Islands. Baliblog reader Peter sent me some extra info.
                 Â
“Having been in padangbai in september i noticed a new (it wasn’t there in march) daily boat-service directly
from padangbai to gili (trawagan ?) by boat i mean a re-built jukung-type-of-boat.
Supposedly a 4-5 hour trip - weather permitting… i can’t recall the name of the company and i don’t know the official schedule but as said, it’s a daily service - it arrives every day at padangbai around 13:00 and heads back to gili again 30-45 minutes later it seemed full (25-30 people ?) every day in/out of padangbai.â€

Thanks Peter for that update.
