Nusa Dua Fiesta 2007

The Bali Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) proudly present our new festival theme for this year entitled ‘Nusa Dua Fiesta 2007’, which will be held from 18th until 21st October 2007 at Peninsula Island - Nusa Dua, otherwise known as The Garden of Hope.

The Peninsula, with its 5 hectare landscape and unparalleled views over the Indian Ocean, is an excellent venue choice. Tourists will have the opportunity enjoy the dynamic ambience of this annual festival in tropical surroundings. This exclusive four days event will be celebrated with a comprehensive range of activities including culture, fashion, food, arts, sports, music and exhibitions. Designed for to appeal to an audience of all ages, Fiesta 2007 will present some of the finest traditional performances from Bali as well as other provinces across the Indonesian archipelago. The event will also showcase the talents of renowned Balinese musicians such as Balawan & Batuan Etnik, a guitarist who plays with the group a repertoire of ethnic inspired music.

“Besides demonstrating what the Nusa Dua has to offer, we would also like to take the opportunity to promote Bali to the world. The inaugural Nusa Dua Festival was first held in 1996 and over the ensuring years we have aspired to create different themes so that tourists can experience something unique at every event,” comments Ir. I Made Mandra, President Director of the BTDC. This year BTDC has taken the initiative to revamp the image of the Nusa Dua Festival and re-brand it under the name of the ‘Nusa Dua Fiesta 2007’, which essentially is a reflection of the lifestyle of this charming.

The luxurious Nusa Dua Resorts has been managed since 1973 by the BTDC; a state owned enterprise body with a progressive vision towards the development of tourism.

For almost 34 years, BTDC has achieved a number of honours such as Kalpataru in 1999, and was voted by Investor Magazine as the Best State Owned Enterprise Initiative in 2005 for the trade and service category. In addition, as a destination that attracts large numbers of international travellers on an annual basis, BTDC has also achieved Green Globe 21 Certification for its endeavours to preserve the environment, social and culture recognition by Bali’s Tri Hita Karana Foundation and acknowledgement for the high level of security enforcement within the area.

Program               :  A program to exposed the potential of Indonesia Tourism Product, for example: Agro business, Handicraft and gift, Garment & Textile, Traditional Snack Tourism Services, Accessories, Interior Product, Leather Product, and Micro Product as well.
Implementation     :  During the Nusa Dua Fiesta Event, Starting date from 18 – 21 October 2007.

1. Fiesta Food Court

Program               :  Fiesta food court will be held in Bali Collection , it sells food and drink to the visitor of Nusa Dua Fiesta.
Implementation     :  During Fiesta, 18th October – 21st October 2007

Details                 :  The Food Courts are equipped and organize by Bali Collection.

Program               :  Fiesta Boutique Sales will be held in Bali Collection, it sells clothes, accessories and etc.
Implementation     :  During Fiesta, 18th October – 21st October 2007
Start from 12.00 – 17.00

Participant            :  All tenants of Bali Collection.
Details                 : The Boutique Sales are equipped and organize by Bali Collection.

1. Parade Fiesta 2007

Program               :  A performance describes a lifestyle of Nusa Dua, Contain the development of modern culture and traditional culture fusion to support in progressing Bali Tourism. The theme of this parade is Miss Fiesta 2007 Lifestyle in Nusa Dua.
Sub-Program        :  Miss FIESTA feature in Parade
Implementation     :  First day of FIESTA - Thursday 18th October 2007.
Start from BTDC at 15.30 and finish in Peninsula at 19.00.
Estimated time for the parade is 3,5 hours.
Participant            : Min 50 people per team (Company, School, Province, Hotel, and Traditional) with expected number 1.500 – 2000 people.
Detail                   :  Distance for the parade approximately 1,5 km and the parade will be  Colourful

1. Traditional & Contemporary Performances

Program               :  An entertainment program to exposed The Culture of Indonesia, in terms of Dance, theatre, traditional Music performance and etc.
Implementation     : During the Nusa Dua Fiesta Event, start from 18 – 21 October 2007.
The performances are In Peninsula Island and Bali Collection .
Participant            :  From the Provinces in Indonesia

1. SPORT & GAMES COMPETITION

1. Hole In One Competition

Program               : Is a Hole in Competition in 50, 80, and 100 meter
Implementation     : Thursday 18th – 21st October 2007

2. Fiesta Olympic Day

Program               :  Fiesta Olympic Day is fun games & Sport competition for example:   swimming, running, etc

3. Hotel Cooking Competition
